About Us

Amanah Saham Kedah “ASK” Fund is a Shariah-compliant unit trust designed to empower the Bumiputera community by providing an effective investment platform that grows and mobilises savings. Its mission is to open wider access to the capital market and promote a more equitable sharing of state and national wealth. The fund is managed by Kedah Islamic Asset Management Berhad (KIAM), previously known as Amanah Saham Kedah Berhad

Encourage savings and investment among the Bumiputera community

Enable active participation in the capital market

Ensure a fair and equitable distribution of the nation’s wealth

Portfolio Management

Since 2007, KIAM has provided portfolio management services to institutions, government agencies, and corporate entities. These services encompass both equity investments and money market investments. Each portfolio is managed by KIAM through appointed External Fund Managers who possess extensive experience and expertise in investment management, with the objective of delivering competitive returns for KIAM. The appointed External Fund Managers undergo a rigorous assessment process covering both their profiles and performance track records to ensure that returns remain optimal and aligned with KIAM’s policies and guidelines

All equity and money market investments offered are fully Shariah-compliant and halal. For Muslim investors, a primary advantage of Islamic equities is the assurance that managed portfolios are invested solely in Shariah-compliant assets. In line with this commitment, KIAM places strong emphasis on transparency and professionalism in all dealings with its External Fund Managers. This disciplined approach has contributed to the consistent enhancement of the performance of KIAM’s portfolio funds

Our Fund Manager

KAF Investment Funds Berhad (KIFB) has been appointed as the External Fund Manager responsible for managing the investments of Tabung ASK and its portfolios. As the Fund Manager, KIFB is accountable for asset management, investment selection, and the execution of investment decisions. They are also required to provide daily reports to the Manager detailing all investment transactions to facilitate the calculation of the Net Asset Value. In addition, KIFB must prepare monthly reports to be submitted to the KIAM Investment Committee.

KIAM appointed KIFB as the External Fund Manager effective 15 March 2018. KIFB manages 100% of the investment activities in accordance with the terms of the Investment Management Agreement that has been executed.

KIFB holds a Capital Markets Services Licence under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007. KIFB became a subsidiary of KAF Seagroatt & Campbell Berhad effective 15 April 2013, following the acquisition of a majority stake in Alliance Investment Management Berhad. Subsequently, Alliance Investment Management Berhad was renamed KAF Investment Funds Berhad to reflect the change in ownership.

KIFB currently manages 18 collective investment schemes with a total asset value exceeding RM3.6 billion, offering a wide range of funds across different risk profiles. KIFB offers both conventional and Shariah-compliant collective investment schemes. In addition to its own sales representatives, the funds are also distributed through unit trust advisers and registered agents. Through its network of registered agents, which serves as an alternative distribution channel, KIFB is able to provide more personalised service to investors. KIFB also collaborates with iFast Capital Sdn Bhd to offer its funds online.
